I’ll start out by saying my mantra is
“If you aren’t having fun -
you aren’t living”. When I started writing this introduction I
started out extremely formal and quite serious. Then I realized, I
don’t want to be formal - I want to have FUN!
I have always been an entrepreneur- and have experienced many
different industries ranging from advertising to printing to
high-tech to Internet companies to marketing to consulting and
others in between. Each venture came with its own fascination and
profitability - but none ever truly “fit” me or fit what I LOVE to
do. So, when I started MOON Tans, not one person I know was
surprised when my newest venture was in the “beauty” business - after
all it's all about looking good! But even more
truly surprising is that MOON Tans isn't just about beauty - it is
about health and people and lives.
Tell me, who wouldn’t have fun making people feel great about
themselves? Who wouldn’t have fun making a true difference to a
client by providing a product and service that changes how they view
themselves? Who wouldn’t have fun making a cancer patient survivor
tell you that you have just given them a new outlook because they
don’t have to continue to be pale? Who wouldn’t have fun meeting
people from all walks of life from superstars to super-moms? Who
wouldn’t have fun knowing that you are making a huge difference by
protecting people from future skin damage and the risks of skin
cancer? Let me tell you, I never sold a printing job or consulting
contract where I got THIS kind of satisfaction!
I have always totally been a live for today kind of gal - so when I
hit 40 I totally freaked out! Overnight wrinkles appeared - how did
that happen? Hmmm let’s see, living 40 years in Colorado - a mile
closer to the sun, using tanning beds frequently, rarely using sun
block (this came into the market long after I had already damaged my
skin) and I suppose this list goes on. It became extremely apparent
to me that cost of continuing to look tan was a very high price to
pay - and who can afford the masses of wrinkle cream to undo the
damage you continue to do with traditional tanning?
Out of desperation comes creation and MOON Tans was born. Although I
can’t take the credit for “inventing” this awesome alternative, what
I can take credit for is the reason MOON Tans has become the
nationally recognized name in Sunless Airbrush Tanning. And this
recognition comes because we now supply over 250 salons nationally
and our salons have provided over 100,000 tans to people who are
elated to have an alternative to the harmful effects and damage of
traditional tanning! My greatest reward is to hear from these
clients daily - who are SO excited to have a totally natural looking
tan - AND one that is not going to do any damage! But to me, the
excitement hasn’t even begun - when MOON Tans becomes THE
alternative to traditional tanning in every household across the
nation - then I will be excited!
